Cedarville beats Storm to end home skid



CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Lydia sweeney recorded a career-high 16 points and the Lady Jackets were 72-43 on Lake Erie in G-MAC women’s basketball action at the Callan Athletic Center.

Lexi moore amassed ten points for Cedarville, 9-5 overall and 4-4 G-MAC, which ended a three-game losing streak at home.

Sweeney added four interceptions and taylor strock clocked a career-high 12 rebounds.

A 13-2 push early in the second half swelled a six point half-time margin to 41-24.

The home team scored the first 14 points of the fourth quarter to open the competition and eventually extended the lead to 33.

  • Allison Mader had eight points and two blocked shots.
  • Lea Butterbaugh made his debut scoring four points with two assists.
  • All eleven CU players in uniform played and ten scored.
  • The hosts outscored Lake Erie 44-21 in the second half.
  • The Lady Jackets are a perfect 14-0 in the all-time series.
  • The rematch is on February 9 in Painesville, Ohio.
