Real Madrid win first El Clásico of season 2-1 thanks to goals from Alaba and Vázquez

Mo Salah celebrates after scoring the winning goal against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Mo Salah has played a crucial role in Liverpool’s quick start to the season, which places Jurgen Klopp’s side second in the Premier League and unbeaten so far.

The Egypt striker has scored seven goals in eight games – with Leicester’s Jamie Vardy leading the scorers’ charts – and playing perhaps the best football of his career.

Salah’s magnificent individual goal against Watford last weekend summed up the current form he enjoys.

At his side, in the front row of Liverpool, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, the latter who scored his 100th Premier League goal in the rout at Watford.

While this trio may have an argument for being among the best offensive lines in football, Liverpool’s defense is still of concern – but certainly not to the same extent as Manchester United’s.

Liverpool have managed a clean sheet in their previous five games and have conceded eight goals in that span, with talismanic defender Virgil Van Dijk yet to reach the same heights as before his knee injury.

However, Liverpool have often done a good job of keeping Cristiano Ronaldo silent when he clashed with the Portuguese superstar – although that did not necessarily result in victories.

Ronaldo has played for Liverpool 12 times in his career and has only scored three goals. However, he emerged victorious eight times.

Liverpool continued their good form with a midweek victory over Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, which you can read more about at here.
